Like we needed one. Because travelling is so exhausting, we need to travel more to relax.
This trip, which is the longest so far, starts with another visit to Bali, in Indonesia. Simone, Alex and I will stay there for 2 days, waiting for the others and taking the time to surf again. You can never surf too much!
We also went to Uluwatu, in the South, to see a traditional Balinese Dance on the side of the ocean, with a beautiful sunset. The scooter ride was totally worth it!
Then, we took a ferry to go to Lombok, which is an island situated on the East Coast of Bali. The ferry was suppose to take 4h, but lucky as we are, we had an old ferry that took 7h. Lombok is less touristic and popular than Bali. Our hostel was at Senggigi, in the North-West part of Lombok.
Lombok is known for its stratovolcano Mount Rinjani, which is the second highest volcano in Indonesia at 3,726 m. We couldn’t trek it, since it’s a 4 days/3 nights trek and we neither had time or equipment for that. Therefore, we only booked tours to go see the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls and the Monkey Forest. We could swim in the waterfall, but it was really cold. The view was amazing, we saw beautiful rice crops on our way, with mountain background.
To finish our trip, we went to Gili Trawangan, a small heavenly island to party, dive and snorkel. We weren’t disappointed. The water was crystal blue, the fishes beautiful and the sunset stunning.
“To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.”
